B200XL Pergola Installation in Chichester
In 2021, a homeowner in Chichester, West Sussex reached out to us about adding a pergola to his garden. He wanted to create an inviting outdoor spa area around the back of his house, and a pergola would provide the perfect cover - it would offer welcome shade from the sun on hot days, shelter the space from rain and wind, and elevate the beauty of the space overall. Designing the Pergola
After an initial consultation with us, the homeowner decided on the Brustor B200XL pergola. This model comes with a louvred roof that can be opened and rotated using a remote control - he could open the louvres up to let in warm sunshine and a gentle breeze, or close them to create a cosy, sheltered environment. No matter the time of day or the weather outside, there would always be the perfect ambiance.
1. Size
The pergola needed to be large enough to house a raised hot tub and a comfortable seating area, so after measuring everything out, we designed a structure that stretched an impressive 6 by 3.4 metres. This generous size fit everything the homeowner had planned, with plenty of headroom for the wall-mounted LED lights.
2. Aesthetics
The pergola frame was powder-coated in a striking quartz grey that complemented the white louvres. This colour combination blended with the surrounding architecture and the furniture it sheltered, creating a natural flow throughout.
3. Full-Height Wall
The pièce de résistance of this project was the full-height cladded wall that we framed with timber. It created an enclosed yet open-air ambiance that bridged the gap between indoors and out, making it the perfect spot to unwind, entertain guests, or bask in the beauty of nature.
4. Optional Upgrades
Looking to take the beauty and versatility of his pergola even further, the homeowner opted for a few upgrades. He chose to have us integrate three dimmable, warm-white LED lights into the louvres, which would create an atmospheric glow for evening gatherings. We also added three motorised side screens that could be rolled down for greater privacy, shade from the sun, and protection from the wind.
The End Result
The new pergola successfully transformed a regular outdoor area into an extraordinary spa space that could be enjoyed in any weather. Here’s what our client had to say about the results:
“Like a lot of people, the idea for an outdoor spa area was hatched during lockdown. We knew we wanted a hot tub and seating area, but had no fixed idea about what kind of structure to put it in.

Installing the foundations and electrics was the more complex part of the project. We arranged this ourselves in consultation with Broadview. Once that was ready, the pergola installation was done in a day and a half and almost looked too easy by comparison.
The composite planking on the rear wall was our own idea and Broadview left us with a stud frame ready to run in wiring and finish off ourselves.
