B200XL Coupled Pergola Installation in Broadstone
At Broadview, we recently completed a stunning outdoor shading project for a homeowner in Broadstone, Dorset. Our clients were seeking a bespoke solution to transform their garden into a comfortable, stylish, and functional outdoor living area that could be enjoyed all year round for relaxing and entertaining friends and family. The goal was to provide shading and weather protection without sacrificing aesthetics or flexibility.
The Solution
We installed two B200XL coupled pergolas, each measuring 7m x 3.5m, featuring a rotating louvred roof system for flexible control of sunlight and ventilation. This premium outdoor structure not only enhanced the look of the garden but also provided the functionality required to create an inviting space, no matter the weather.
The pergola’s custom frame and louvres were finished in the sophisticated shade of RAL 7038 Agate Grey, perfectly complementing the client’s home exterior and garden design. This bespoke colour choice was integral in maintaining the property’s cohesive, modern aesthetic.
Key Features
1. Integrated Lighting
To create a warm and ambient atmosphere, the pergolas were fitted with 8 integrated, dimmable LEDs embedded within the louvres. These warm white lights provide ample illumination during the evening, enhancing the space’s usability well into the night.
2. Sliding Frameless Glass Panels
The client wanted to be able to enjoy the outdoor area regardless of the weather, so we installed 6 units of sliding frameless glass. These panels not only offer unobstructed views of the garden but also protect the space from wind and rain, making it a versatile area for year-round enjoyment.
3. Motorised Screens
For added flexibility and privacy, we integrated 5 motorised screens into the structure. These screens can be easily raised or lowered via remote control, allowing the client to adjust the level of shading and protection as needed. The motorised screens blend seamlessly with the design, adding an extra layer of comfort.
4. Infra-Red Heaters
To extend the use of the pergola into cooler months, we installed 4 x 2KW infra-red heaters with receivers. These heaters are discreetly integrated into the structure and can be operated via remote control. This ensures that the space remains warm and comfortable, even on chilly evenings.
5. Remote-Controlled Functionality
The entire system, including the rotating louvres, integrated screens, and heating, is conveniently operated via a Somfy remote control. This ensures that the client can easily adjust the settings to suit their preferences with the touch of a button, whether they are adjusting the roof for more sunlight or lowering the screens for extra privacy.

The end result is a beautifully designed outdoor living area that provides shade, comfort, and protection throughout the year.
