Installation of B600 Patio Roofs in Sonning
The Brief
Broadview was approached by this homeowner in Sonning, Berkshire, to install a pair of retractable terrace covers over their private patio. The client wanted to get more use out of their outdoor space all year round so required a solution that provided shelter, light and heat without sacrificing sun exposure when desired. Ensuring that the new shading structures complemented the exterior of their home was a top priority, as was seamless integration. The capabilities of our B600 patio cover provided the ideal solution.
The Solution
With such a long patio area to cover, we coupled together two B600 patio roof structures to fill the required space perfectly. The shading structures were specifically designed to sit below the wall hung tiles on the house whilst clearing the outward opening bi-fold doors and overhanging kitchen side soffit and fascia.
Both B600s were also manufactured with offset front central legs so that they would be inline with the steps leading up to the patio from the terrace, creating an attractive framing effect.
In order to ensure problem-free functionality, we re-routed the power from the garage fuse board so that remote control operation of the retractable roofs was possible, as well as operation of the integrated LED lighting and outdoor heaters we installed to ensure outdoor comfort well into the night.
The Result
Our patio covers have created an all year-round entertainment space, much to the delight of the client, who was very impressed with the seamless final result. Not only was this structure custom built to fit the intended space, the use of Custom Grey for the frame means that it matches the existing bi-fold door frames perfectly.
The six dimmable LED light blades in the retractable roof give the client excellent control over lighting after dark, whilst two 2.3Kw Bromic platinum remote control heaters ensure that the client no longer needs to worry about the evening chill.
