The Brief
As recognised outdoor shading specialists in the local area, this homeowner in Walkford, Christchurch, contacted Broadview for a new patio awning so that they could make more use of their outdoor space. The awning also needed to be large enough to provide coverage for two sets of glass patio doors, as the client wanted to prevent the build-up of heat within the house during hot summer afternoons and stop their furniture from fading in the sun.
The Solution
Following a site visit and consultation with the client, we recommended the B35 Awning from Brustor. With a maximum width of 7.5m, the B35 awning was more than capable of covering the required patio area, and a wind resistance up to 5 Beaufort means that the client can enjoy sitting outside comfortably without needing to worry about the impact of strong winds.
A seamless integration was very important to the client, so we ensured the cassette and software matched the white patio door frames. Once retracted within its cassette, the overall effect is very subtle and non-obtrusive and the awning blends wonderfully with the exterior of the home.
The Result
The homeowner was delighted with their new patio awning and are looking forward to using their patio for BBQs, relaxation and hosting friends. Not only does the B35 awning provide effective protection from the sun's glare, the use of a high-quality, waterproof fabric means that it is also provides excellent protection during passing showers. As the awning is mould-proof, the client won't need to worry about retracting the awning during rain either!
