Glass Roof Shading
Perfect for conservatories, orangeries, and glass roof projects, our B126, B127 or B128 Veranda external awning systems reduce heat build-up by reflecting the sun's heat away from the glass. The result is a cool, shaded room throughout the summer.
Choose from two fabric options: Soltis and acrylic. Soltis screen fabric reflects heat and light from the sun and filters it through a porous membrane, without blocking your view of the outside world. Traditional-style acrylic canvas is also effective, with a large choice of fabrics colours and styles available. New self-cleaning Dickson Orchestra Max acrylics will keep your awning looking fresh for years to come.
The arms and casette can be coloured to match your home in standard white cream, brown, or anthracite grey, or you can opt for special powder-coated colours for an additional cost. The B127 and B126 also come with an extension option beyond the front of your conservatory, offering additional shade when you need it.
What are the benefits of glass roof shading?
Because glass is a poor insulator, heat enters and escapes rapidly through the large glass panes of your conservatory or orangery, particularly through the roof. Covering your glass roof with a B126 or B127 awning is the best way to help regulate the internal temperature of your glass room, retaining more heat in the winter while preventing excess heat from entering in the summer.
Why use an awning as a conservatory roof cover?
If you want the shading of a solid conservatory roof without losing the views offered by a glass roof, awnings are the perfect solution. Simply extend your awning when you want keep the sun out, and retract it when you want to let more light in!
When extended, our awnings provide exceptionally high coverage against sunlight. They feature high-tech ZIP screen technology to keep the fabric taught and free from flapping, and can even be installed on conservatory roofs that are almost totally flat.
Our awnings can be operated either manually or remotely, giving you total control over how you open and close them. You can even opt for wind sensor to automatically retract your awning, so you don’t have to worry about closing it during high winds.
